Quick Overview

Forget waking up in the morning and resigning yourself to another cup of stale, over extracted drip coffee. So here’s a better option than hopping in your car and driving to the nearest coffee shop for an overpriced cappuccino: the Solis Master 5000. The Solis Master 5000 is a coffee center located right in your kitchen, saving you time and money each time you use it. Turn the knob and press a single button to enjoy an espresso, café crema, or a large coffee. If you’re in the mood for a cappuccino, latte, or macchiato, use the steam wand to foam and steam milk. And let’s not forget about the tea drinkers in the house – a hot water dispenser is convenient and hassle-free. All this comes packaged in durable, easy to clean plastic housing, ready for you to start brewing, steaming, and drinking.

Product Description

Features & Benefits: Coffee

Control Panel

The control panel is located on the right side of the machine, above the hot water dispenser. The first thing you’ll notice is the large beverage volume knob on the left, which allows you to choose your beverage volume all the way from a 1 oz shot to an 8 oz cup. The indicator light above that knob is the multiple control indicator, which illuminates when the water reservoir is empty, the bean hopper is empty, or any general malfunction occurs. The button directly to the right of the knob is the coffee selection button, and it has an indicator light to show when the machine is ready to brew. To the right of the coffee selection button there is a steam button – this also has an indicator light, so you’ll know when the machine is ready to steam. Finally, all the way to the right of the steam button is the on/off indicator light, which illuminates when the machine is on.

Push Button Technology

Whether you like a straight shot or a café americano, the Solis Master 5000 automatically grinds and extracts the coffee to your desired taste. After brewing is completed, the machine will place the coffee grounds into an internal dump box for later disposal, and it will even tell you when it is full. To begin, turn on the machine and the green indicator light illuminates. Turn the coffee volume knob to the beverage you want – espresso, café crema, or large cup. A café crema is an espresso brewed to fill a regular coffee, creating an aromatic and flavorful beverage. When the coffee ready indicator light illuminates, press the coffee selection button and your beverage will be dispensed into your cup. If you want two of that beverage, press the coffee selection button twice. Once the coffee has started dispensing, you can stop the flow by pressing the coffee selection button again.

Professional Conical Burr Grinder

Conical burr grinders, like the one on the SM 5000, are known for their consistent, precise grind. Turn the knob to adjust the grinder from 1 (fine) up to 18 (coarse). This adjustment allows you accommodate any style of coffee roast – light, medium or dark, and it also allows you to accommodate for different kinds of drinks. The tinted bean hopper holds 10.5 oz of coffee beans, protecting them from the damaging effects of moisture, light, and air.

Pre-Infusion System

The pre-infusion system on the Solis Master 5000 helps deliver an espresso full of depth and intensity. The first step of pre-infusion takes about two seconds, as the fresh grinds are moistened and conditioned. Next, a two second pause allows the aromatic oils to leach from the interior of the coffee outward. The second step of the pre-infusion process activates the high pressure pump to ensure the absolute maximum flavor extraction with a layered crema topping.

Adjustable Coffee Spout

The dispensing spout slides up or down from 3 to 4 inches, allowing you to brew into small espresso cups up to large latte cups with no splashing. You can remove the dispensing spout and clean it with hot water about once a month – this will ensure your coffee tastes fresh.

Cup Storage

On the top of the machine between the water reservoir and grinder is a cup storage area. On the SM5000, you have the option to remove the cover to display your cups and save cabinet space.

Features & Benefits: Frothing and Hot Water

Milk Frothing Made Easy

This patented frother design makes frothing for a cappuccino and steaming for a latte simple. You never have to worry about running out of steam under heavy demand when you have friends over. To steam, press the steam button located to the right of the coffee selection button. The Master 5000 will need a moment to heat up to steam temperature – while it is heating, the steam indicator light will be flashing. Once it is steadily illuminated, your machine is ready to steam, and you can open the steam knob to begin frothing and steaming. Close the knob and press the steam button again after you’re finished to exit the steaming mode.

Hot Water Dispenser

The automatic hot water dispenser is great for tea, cider, or an americano. All you have to do is open the steam knob once the machine is at brewing temperature, and hot water will be dispensed into your waiting cup.

Features & Benefits: Care, Maintenance & Other

Removable Water Reservoir

The removable water holds 64 oz of water, and when it runs low an indicator light will let you know. To keep your coffee tasting fresh, it’s best if you clean the reservoir regularly with hot water and non-abrasive detergent.

Removable Brew Group

The brew group is easy to remove. Just open the side door and remove with the thumb release lever. This gives access to everything that touches the coffee when it goes through the brew cycle, including the removable screens. Clean it once a week – just remove and rinse with warm water.

Cleaning the Internal Dump Box, Drip Tray, and Cover

The dump box for spent coffee grounds is located inside the machine and easily accessed by sliding it out from the side of the machine. The machine will let you know when the dump box needs to be emptied. The drip tray has a water level indicator so you know when it’s time to empty and clean the drip tray and cover – it’s advisable to use hot water and a non-abrasive detergent.

Internal Dump Box

The dump box (for left over ground coffee) is located inside the machine and easily accessed by sliding out from the side of the machine. The machine will indicate when the tray or the dump box need to be emptied.

Descaling

Impurities in your tap water will cause lime scale buildup on the brewing components of the Solis Master 5000. To remove any buildup, you’ll need to descale once every 4-6 months depending on the hardness of your water. Your user manual details the step-by-step process that keeps your machine functioning at its best.

Accessories

A cleaning brush, cleaning tablets, brew system maintenance tool, and detailed step-by-step instructions are included.
