Product Description

Features & Benefits: Coffee

Seamless Brewing and Steaming

The Solis Master Top super automatic espresso machine has 2 separate boilers to eliminate wait time between brewing and steaming. The fast-heating double boiler system ensures that the Master Top can quickly make espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, americanos and more.

Noiseless Disc Grinder

The Master Top is designed for quiet, convenient brewing. The built-in burr grinder grinds at a surprisingly low volume while maintaining a fast, consistent grind for espresso or drip coffee. The grinder has 6 fineness settings and a convenient adjustment dial on the back left side of the machine. To be sure that the grinding discs remain calibrated, adjust the grind only when the machine is running. The grinder on the Master Top is fed by a large capacity 10.6 oz sealed bean hopper, ensuring that your beans are kept fresh for brewing.

Plenty of Brewing Options

The Master Top is designed to brew high quality espresso, but it can also brew a café crema or a pot of coffee automatically. The keypad features 3 programmable brewing buttons located on the front of the machine. Each button is preset from the factory, but the brew volume, temperature and strength setting can be customized for each one. The button on the left is preset for espresso, the middle button is preset for a pot of coffee, and the left button is preset for café crema.

Programmable Controls

The Solis Master Top espresso machine has a variety of programmable options, including pre-brewing, standby mode, clock, language, how much, how strong, and how hot you’d like your coffee to be. The machine is already preset for ideal brewing when it arrives, though you can change any of the presets by pressing the programming key marked “M” under the flip-down control panel.
Once the Master Top is in programming mode, the LCD will guide you through the process. Press a brew button to begin brewing into your cup and press the “M” button again when you’ve reached your desired volume. To set coffee strength, press the “M” button twice to reach the coffee quantity menu, where you can adjust it from 6-16 grams of ground coffee. Use the +/- key to make changes.
Programming the temperature works similarly, with 3 presses of the “M” button to reach the temperature settings on the LCD. The Solis Master Top is preset at the medium temperature setting, and you can adjust it for each brew button in increments from 1-6.

Bypass Doser

The Solis Master top features a bypass doser to give you a second option if you or your guests want to try something other than the beans already in the hopper. The bypass doser allows you to brew your favorite pre-ground coffee with ease. Just use the measuring scoop that comes with the machine to pour ground coffee into the bypass doser, located on the top back of the machine next to the bean hopper. Then flip down the central button panel and press the button marked by a coffee scoop. Finally, press any of the 3 brew buttons to begin brewing.

Cup Warmer

For the perfect cup of coffee, you need more than just proper beans and fresh water. You need the right temperature, and an easy way to ensure this is by pre-heating your cups. Place your cups upside down on the cup warming plate on top of the machine, and they will be heated by residual heat from the boiler. You can also rinse out your cup with hot water before brewing.

Features & Benefits: Frothing and Hot Water

Powerful Steam Wand

Thanks to its double boiler system, the Master Top is always ready to froth and steam – even while brewing. The Solis Master Top has a Pannarello frothing wand to simplify making cappuccinos and lattes. Just immerse the wand in a cup or pitcher of cold milk and turn the knob on the right side of the machine to the steam icon to begin. As with all frothing wands, removing milk residue with a damp cloth after each use will keep it clean and protect it from milk build-up.

Hot Water on Demand

The built-in Pannarello frothing wand doubles as a hot water dispenser, and hot water is always ready. Turn the knob on the right side of the machine to the droplet icon, and the Master Top will dispense hot water for tea, hot chocolate or soup.

Features & Benefits: Care, Maintenance & Other

Large Reservoir

The 81 oz water reservoir is conveniently hidden behind the steam wand, and it can be removed easily for filling and cleaning. The drawer-style reservoir holds enough water for 30-40 double shots of espresso, making the Master Top a great companion for entertaining. To remove impurities from your tap water and increase the length of time between descaling cycles, Solis recommends using a Solis Aqua-Select water filter. The Solis Master Top will need to be descaled once every few months, but it’s a straightforward, fully automated process detailed in your user manual.

Removable Brew Group, Drip Tray and Dump Box

When the Solis Master Top is switched on or off, the brew group is automatically rinsed for freshness. About once or twice a month, a more thorough cleaning is needed. Remove the brew group, clean it of residue with the included brush, and rinse it under warm water. The dump box holds up to 25 portions of spent coffee grounds, and should be removed and cleaned when it’s filled, as should the drip tray and cover.

Automated Cleaning

The machine will alert you when more comprehensive cleaning is needed. When that happens, insert a Solitab cleaning tablet and the small yellow circular sponge into the bypass doser, and press the cleaning key until the cleaning program starts. This process removes coffee oils and residue, and only takes about 5 minutes.

Accessories

The Solis Master Top comes with a measuring spoon for the bypass doser, a multi-tool adjustment knob, and a cleaning brush.
